Why can't my mother treat me like an adult?

No you are not a little girl anymore. You are a single woman alone in a foreign country. It is impressive how you have managed to navigate the trip and survive on your own. But mothers are mothers. They worry. Maybe your mom has some difficulty saying things in a warm manner. She probably reads all the papers sees the news and she worries. Travel is not as safe asa it used to be. Don't be so hard on her. You sound like a strong, fun loving young woman. And I know she is proud, I would be. Stay safe and try not to hang on to all her cautionary words. Attain that degree. You are a winner.
