Does anyone know the name/author of this children's book?

I remember my 5th grade teacher showing our cl a very unique book; each page had a different picture that had something strange or surreal about it. I remember it being very dark and mature for a children's book. Each picture had something strange and unnatural going on; it had a very "twilight zone" feel to it. I remember one of the pictures was a bridge that went on forever and never ended. I think the idea was for the reader to create a story to go along with the picture. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
